Photon Brothers is seeking a dynamic and experienced Roofing Manager to lead our roofing sales efforts across California and Colorado, while also overseeing the day-to-day operations of the roofing business in California. This dual-role leadership position bridges strategic market growth with boots-on-the-ground execution. The ideal candidate brings proven sales acumen, operational oversight experience, and a collaborative approach to team development.
Sales Leadership – California & Colorado (75%)
- Lead and scale the residential roofing sales function in both states, including managing sales reps, setting targets, and monitoring KPIs.
- Collaborate with marketing to optimize lead generation strategies, campaign ROI, and territory planning.
- Develop sales training programs to ensure reps are product- and code-knowledgeable, customer-focused, and quota-achieving.
- Own pipeline forecasting, bid pricing strategies, and close rate optimization across markets.
- Establish dealer/contractor relationships and identify market expansion opportunities.
- Report weekly sales metrics, wins, and challenges to senior leadership.
Operational Oversight – California (25%)
- Manage daily roofing operations across California, including scheduling, materials coordination, quality control, and crew management.
- Ensure roofing projects are completed safely, on time, and to company quality standards.
- Partner with internal teams (permitting, inspections, service, customer experience) to ensure seamless execution.
- Hire, train, and develop California roofing crews and subcontractors.
- Implement process improvements that reduce cycle time, increase efficiency, and maintain job margins.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and local/state building regulations.
- 8+ years in residential roofing or solar-roofing roles, with at least 3 years in a management or multi-state leadership role.
- Demonstrated success in driving roofing sales growth and managing P&L or budgets.
- Strong understanding of California roofing regulations, materials, and install methods; Colorado knowledge preferred.
- Ability to lead hybrid teams (W2, 1099, and subcontractors).
- Proven ability to balance sales growth with operational scalability.
- Tech-savvy: CRM (e.g., Hubspot), project management tools, estimating software.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with attention to both revenue and margin.
- Team player with strong interpersonal and coaching skills.
- Highly organized and thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Exceptional communication skills a must.
- Spanish language skills a plus.
