Under the direction of the School Age Director, the Site Director is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and operations of a Before and/or After School Child Care Program at South School in Londonderry, NH. This role oversees the safe, engaging, and effective delivery of youth development programming during out-of-school “gap” hours before school begins and/or after dismissal. Full-time or part-time scheduling may be available based on candidate preference.
The Site Director serves as a role model for children and staff while fostering quality care, enrichment activities, and positive character development. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and implement daily curriculum and enrichment programming
- Ensure compliance with NH Child Care Licensing regulations and maintain appropriate documentation
- Champion Character Development curriculum and model YMCA core values
- Supervise, train, and mentor site staff and volunteers
- Build and maintain strong relationships with school administrators, staff, and families
- Opportunities for additional hours during no-school days, school vacation weeks, and summer camp programming
Schedule Options:
6:45–8:30 AM and/or 2:30–6:00 PM
Location: South School – Londonderry, NH
Qualifications
Candidates must be at least 20 years old, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and meet one of the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in elementary education or recreation
- Associate degree in child development, education, recreation, or a related field
- Completed recreation director training + 1,000 hours experience with children
- 12 college credits in child-focused studies + 1,000 hours experience with children
- Current NH educator certification
- 2,000 hours experience working with children and either:
- Current Para II certification or
- Active enrollment in at least 3 credits toward child-focused coursework (must complete 6 total credits within 12 months)
