Behavioral Intervention Specialist- Bryant Elementary

Shodair Children’s Hospital is seeking a Behavioral Intervention Specialist to join our Comprehensive School and Community Treatment (CSCT) team. This full-time, school-based position provides direct support to students experiencing serious emotional disturbances (SED) by working collaboratively with a CSCT therapist, school staff, and families to implement mental health interventions and support students’ success in the classroom and beyond.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care, supervision, and support to students based on individualized treatment and behavior plans. 
  • Assist students in developing and practicing social skills, emotional regulation, and coping strategies.
  • Support students with therapeutic classroom activities and assignments.
  • Collaborate with therapists, school personnel, and families to ensure consistent intervention and communication.
  • Participate in crisis intervention using safe, non-violent techniques when necessary.
  • Document student behaviors, progress, and interventions in accordance with policy and billing requirements. 
  • Coordinate and participate in structured summer and holiday programming, including transporting students as needed.
  • Administer school-time medications during non-traditional school sessions. 
  • Serve as a positive role model for students, promoting safe, respectful, and age-appropriate behavior.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or a related field OR High school diploma/GED with two years of experience working with youth with mental health and behavioral health challenges.
  • Valid driver's license (for transporting students during programming)
