This position is responsible for providing outstanding member service and implementing activities across all youth programs at Family Wellness. These programs include, but are not limited to: Summer Camps, Day Camps, Jump & Plays, Sports Samplers, and other youth programming as assigned. The Youth Activity Staff leads engaging, age-appropriate activities, ensures a safe and welcoming environment, builds positive relationships with participants, and supports program logistics such as child check-in/out and equipment setup. Some programs may occur off-site; reliable transportation is required.

· Communicates effectively and respectfully with youth participants, their families, coworkers, and Family Wellness leadership to support a collaborative and positive program environment.
· Prepares for and leads structured activities, games, and lessons tailored to the specific youth program (e.g., camp, Jump & Play, sports sampler).
· Ensures participant safety and supervision at all times, including managing check-in/check-out procedures and communicating with parents/guardians.
· Maintains clean, organized, and safe program environments by completing assigned cleaning tasks and managing supplies.
· Ensures program equipment is used appropriately, remains in working condition, and reports maintenance needs.
· Fosters a positive, inclusive, and fun environment that supports social-emotional development and healthy lifestyle choices for all youth participants.
· Establishes and maintains consistent routines and procedures to help youth participants feel
secure, supported, and engaged in programming.
· Adheres to all established policies, procedures, and best practices communicated during onboarding, staff trainings, and ongoing program operations; seeks clarification when unsure and consistently upholds safety and organizational standards.
· Arrives on time and prepared for each shift, modeling professionalism and dependability for participants and teammates
Schedule & Hours:
Youth Activity Staff typically work flexible shifts totaling 10-16 hours per month. Shifts may include daytime, evening, and occasional weekend hours based on program needs. There may be opportunities for increased or more consistent hours during the summer months (June–August) when additional programming is offered.
Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):
Preferred skills include experience working with children ages 3–12 in recreational or educational settings, knowledge of fitness or play-based programming, a basic understanding of child safety procedures, excellent customer service skills, professional communication, and the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
Licensure/Certification Requirement(s):
· CPR/AED and First Aid certification required upon hire or obtained within one (1) month of hire
