Position Overview

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages and light food items while delivering exceptional guest service. This role also includes educating guests on menu offerings, making recommendations, and supporting a clean, efficient, and welcoming café environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and take food and beverage orders 
• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages and light food items 
• Educate guests on menu options and provide thoughtful recommendations 
• Process payments accurately and efficiently 
• Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of all work areas 
• Stock supplies and assist with inventory management 
• Support equipment upkeep and report maintenance needs as needed 
• Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards, including alcohol service regulations and possession of a valid New Mexico Alcohol Server Permit 
• Contribute to smooth daily operations and an elevated guest experience 
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required 
• Valid New Mexico Alcohol Server Permit required prior to hire 
• Strong punctuality and reliability 
• Ability to consistently deliver a proactive, guest-focused experience 
• Availability to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and holidays 
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with varying pace 
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods (8+ hours) and perform tasks including lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 40 lbs, as well as bending, kneeling, stooping, and climbing stairs 
• Strong manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills 
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and communicate clearly in English, including basic written documentation
