The Bulk Applicator is responsible for the proper application of chemical products in poultry facilities to support optimal environmental conditions. This role involves using truck-mounted or large-scale equipment, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements, and working closely with poultry producers to meet their needs
Responsibilities:
- Load, unload, clean, and perform general upkeep of trucks and equipment.
- Perform pre- and post-service safety inspections of trucks and equipment.
- Accurately apply chemical products in poultry houses following prescribed procedures and safety protocols.
- Operate and maintain application equipment, ensuring proper calibration and functionality.
- Monitor application effectiveness and provide recommendations for best practices.
- Provide information and responses to basic questions regarding the products being applied.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to chemical applications.
- Maintain accurate records of application rates, locations, and customer interactions. Complete all required paperwork for each service performed.
- Transport chemicals and equipment to various job sites in a safe and compliant manner.
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on application equipment.
- Adhere to company safety policies and procedures, wearing appropriate PPE at all times.
- Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and supervisors to ensure seamless operation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience: High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in chemical application, agriculture, or poultry production preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow application instructions precisely.
- Knowledge of pesticide and chemical safety regulations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must have a DOT Health Card, or the ability to obtain one.
- Must pass drug screening as required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
- Requires travel to multiple locations within service areas, including sitting in a vehicle and driving for long periods of time.
- Capacity to stand, walk, and move around agricultural facilities, farms, and client sites as necessary, including but not limited to squatting, bending, pushing, pulling, and climbing.
- Capability to lift and carry equipment or materials weighing up to 50lbs.
- Aptitude to work outdoors in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and sunlight.
- Ability to communicate effectively in potentially noisy environments such as farm settings or agricultural facilities.
- Capacity to work in environments with potential exposure to allergens, pesticides, or other agricultural chemicals, including the use of PPE such as mask or respirators.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with clients and representing the company in various settings.
