Description
General Responsibilities:
- Perform Mt. Baker Mountain Shop retail sales accurately while providing friendly and respectful customer service
- Create and participate in a positive and inclusive workplace.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment within the Mt. Baker Mountain Shop and associated storage areas
- Develop a working knowledge of Mt. Baker Ski Area Mountain Policies and daily operating procedures as well as Mt. Baker Ski Area facilities and services offered
- Perform Mountain Shop duties as trained
Qualifications:
- Successful completion of Mt. Baker Mountain Shop retail training by an authorized Mt. Baker Ski Area trainer
- General familiarity with outdoor sports equipment and soft goods or demonstrate the ability to acquire a greater understanding of offerings available in the Mt. Baker Mountain Shop
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to facilitate a positive working environment for customers and other staff members of Mt. Baker Ski Area
- Willingness to learn and improve upon skills associated with successful daily operating procedures
Availability Requirements:
- Must have two days available each week in addition to school breaks and holidays.
Starting Pay Rate:
- Rate begins at $16.66/hour with increases for experience, merit, tenure and future WA State minimum wage adjustments possible.

General Physical Requirements
- Bending, twisting, lifting and moving items throughout the day
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds (or more depending on task)
- Standing and or sitting for long periods
- Climbing and descending stairs and step stools
- Shoveling and moving snow
- Standing and walking on compact snow and ice
- Perform repetitive hand tasks as necessary
