Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer plays a key role in making sure components and parts work actually work. In this hands-on role you’ll test components and refine product designs right there on the production floor.  From troubleshooting engineering problems, working the mill or lathe to rework production parts, ensuring assembled parts work as intended, and identifying failure points. Then provide recommendations and changes to design engineers, ensuring changes are made and ensuring production issues get resolved.


You’ll need to act in accordance with the policies set forth in the current procedures and manual. And develop tools, implement designs, and integrate machinery, equipment or computer technologies to ensure effective manufacturing processes and refine product designs to increase component producibility and decrease production costs.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop Manufacturing Process such as APS and work instructions.
  • Resolve production issues first to build evaluations and production Line Issues.
  • Measure parts to ensure proper fits are obtained.
  • Resolve issues with products that occur during the assembly or testing process.
  • Determine root causes of failures using statistical methods and recommend changes in designs, tolerances, or processing methods.
  • Design and purchase Production Tooling for test fixtures, assembly fixtures to reduce labor and ensure quality for the required tooling to assemble parts effectively.
  • Provide technical expertise or support related to manufacturing.
  • Train production personnel in new or existing methods. 
  • Design, install, or troubleshoot manufacturing equipment.
  • Create and maintain written process instructions on APS, CAPPS and other instructional documents.
  • Analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding.
  • Purchase tooling for production areas.
  • Evaluate self-work to ensure compliance with work instructions and standards.
  • Evaluate processes and assemblies and identify areas where improvements can be made.
  • Identify opportunities or implement changes to improve products or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
  • Incorporate new methods and processes to improve existing operations.
  • Improve work methods and tooling.
  • Report any safety problems to management.
  • Follow all environmental, health and safety policies.
  • Train new hires to the updates on APS and Work Instructions.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly.
  • Wearing the proper safety equipment
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • 0-4 years of related experience in a hands-on mechanical engineering capacity.
  • Experience in aerospace, automotive, or manufacturing preferred.
  • Proficient use in 3D modeling software Autodesk Inventor or equivalent.
  • Able to work on-site in Seminole, OK facility required.
