Work Environment & Additional Information

  • Type of role: Full-Time 
  • Location: Job opportunities open to all US locations. Relocation is not offered
  • Travel: Consulting roles will require travel up to 80% travel, usually, Monday through Thursday on a weekly basis[TS1] . When not traveling you are able to work from home virtually, unless traveling to company office. (travel is dependent on client requirements/needs)

Job Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated and experienced Manufacturing Operations Consultants (Sr Consultants, Managers and Sr Manager levels) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing principles, process improvement methodologies, and a proven ability to analyze complex manufacturing processes, identify root causes of problems, and develop data-driven solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve overall productivity for our clients. This role involves working closely with manufacturing organizations to identify challenges, develop strategic solutions, and guide successful implementation. You will work on a diverse range of projects, from strategic planning to hands-on implementation, across various manufacturing industries, including: Energy, Chemicals, Consumer Goods & Retail, Food & Beverage, Life Sciences, Industrial Manufacturing, Transportation, Automotive, and Private Equity. 


Key Responsibilities:


Analysis & Assessment:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of current manufacturing operations, production processes, quality control and other systems to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
  • Analyze production data, supply chain metrics, and financial information to pinpoint opportunities for optimization.
  • Interview stakeholders at all levels, from line operators to senior management, to gather insights and understand operational challenges.

Solution Development & Recommendation:

  • Develop tailored strategies and actionable recommendations to optimize manufacturing processes, streamline workflows, and improve productivity.
  • Design and implement solutions related to lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, inventory management, production planning, quality control, and supply chain optimization.
  • Prepare detailed reports, presentations, and proposals outlining findings, recommendations, and projected benefits.

Implementation & Project Management:

  • Lead and support the implementation of recommended solutions, working closely with client teams to ensure successful adoption and sustainable results.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, and resource requirements for operational improvement initiatives.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide training and mentorship to more junior project team members and client personnel on new processes and methodologies.

Continuous Learner:

  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and new methodologies in manufacturing operations.
  • Contribute to the development of internal consulting tools, methodologies, and knowledge sharing.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders at all levels of client organizations, from factory floor to executive leadership, presenting complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ensure client satisfaction and identify opportunities for repeat business or expanded services.
Requirements

  

Qualifications:


Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical), Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification preferred.

Experience:

  • 5 to 15 years of hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, with a significant portion in a consulting, process improvement, or leadership role for a senior level.
  • Experience in a specific focused industry, e.g., Energy, Chemicals, Consumer Goods, Food & Beverage, Life Sciences, Industrial Manufacturing, Transportation, Automotive, or Private Equity. 
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Must be well-versed in lean principles like 5S, Kaizen, and TPM to identify and eliminate waste, improve efficiency, and optimize workflows. 
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable results in cost reduction, efficiency gains, and quality improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PMP or other project management certification.
  • Experience with digital manufacturing technologies (e.g., IoT, automation, AI).

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in process mapping, value stream mapping, root cause analysis, and other problem-solving tools.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data, derive actionable insights, and enable measurement of the impact of implemented changes.
  • Experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite), manufacturing execution systems (MES), and automation tools is a plus.
  • Familiarity with production planning, inventory control, quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), and supply chain principles.
  • Experience using advanced Excel features, PowerBI, or other tools to analyze and visualize data to gain insights and enable decision-making.

Compensation:

The wage range for these roles considers a wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions including skill sets; years of experience and training; level brought in, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of any range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The salary range is $100,000- $200,000 USD, based on level identified in the interview process.
