Details: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, flexible schedule required (depending on the project)

General Job Summary: Performs building maintenance duties on all Methodist Children’s Homes buildings and facilities.

Essential Functions:

  •  Inspect, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, and building systems 
  • Perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime 
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and plumbing issues 
  • Troubleshoot and fix faults in equipment or systems 
  • Install and replace parts, components, or fixtures 
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports 
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations 
  • Respond to emergency repair requests promptly 
  • Collaborate with other departments or contractors as needed
  • All other duties as assigned
Requirements

Qualifications:

Knowledge & Experience:
Must be twenty-one (21) years of age

  • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification preferred) 
  • Proven experience in maintenance or a related field 
  • Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems 
  • Ability to read technical manuals and blueprints 
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation 
  • Physical ability to lift, climb, and work in various conditions

Skills & Working Condition:

  • Must maintain valid Driver’s License and an acceptable driving record
  • Must be insurable by Methodist Children’s Homes insurance carrier
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule and shifts including overnights, weekends, holidays and extended periods of time.
  • Must successfully complete all phases of pre-service and on-going training, including but not limited to, physical restraint training, First Aid, CPR, Universal Precautions, and medication administration.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, high pressure, high stress environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must provide a negative drug screen result prior to employment.
  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and on-going physical assessments as required
  • Have the ability to demonstrate organizational, management, and leadership skills.
  • Have the ability to generate multiple solutions to meet the changing needs of clients, staff, and communities
  • Have the ability to communicate professionally, in both verbal and written formats, with consumers, including, but not limited to parents, supervisees, colleagues, and community service providers.
  • Have the ability to supervise work related activities with clients and volunteers
  • Regular attendance at primary worksite and agency related events.
  • Have the ability to work overtime.
