The Crew Chief will work closely with the Team Leader at the Sarasota Service Center to establish a new repair station in Sarasota, Florida (SRQ) ahead of the opening of a new Pilatus Sales and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility scheduled for completion in 2027. Initial operations will begin in a rental hangar at Sarasota Airport. Once the new facility is complete, the Crew Chief will play a key role in transitioning into a state-of-the-art MRO environment and supporting all major milestones from setup through full operation.
The Crew Chief ensures smooth workflow by organizing tasks, setting priorities, and maintaining quality standards. This role involves hands-on aircraft maintenance, coordination of work orders, and compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures. In the early stages, the position will also require providing Aircraft on Ground (AOG) support across Florida, including travel to offsite locations.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily maintenance activities and ensure work orders are accurate, complete, and executed on time.
- Review completed work orders for proper documentation and compare quoted vs. billed time.
- Perform logbook research and sign-offs to maintain regulatory compliance.
- Communicate with internal teams and manufacturers for technical support and assist with customer estimates.
- Conduct engine run-ups, troubleshoot issues, and validate repairs prior to return to service.
- Track squawks, inspections, and cleaning schedules for charter, management, and sales aircraft.
- Ensure demo readiness of sales aircraft, including tire pressure, battery charge, and database updates.
- Manage team-related expenses and submit timely reports.
- Travel offsite for AOG repairs and participate in 24/7 on-call support.
- Service and maintain ground support equipment.
- Assist with aircraft cleaning, detailing, and movement.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Promote a collaborative team culture and uphold company standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- Provide own professional-quality tools and toolbox to complete assigned tasks.
Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training preferred.
- Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
- Current Inspection Authorization (IA) preferred.
- Minimum 7+ years of aircraft maintenance experience (Pilatus PC-12, PC-24, or similar), including at least 2 years in a Certified Repair Station.
- Strong familiarity and demonstrated experience with Pilatus aircraft and systems; minimal learning curve expected to ensure immediate contribution.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills for complex mechanical and electrical issues.
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical documentation.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to assist others with technical guidance.
- Proficiency in general computer use and MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Relevant military experience accepted.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work in restricted spaces.
- Ability to use hand tools and specialized test equipment.
- Regular attendance and willingness to work overtime as required.
- Up to 75–100% travel required.

The pay rate for this position is $39.71 - $59.56 per hour depending on experience. Pay rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data. A supplemental relocation incentive may be authorized for highly qualified candidates.
