Job Description: Radiologic Technologist-Medical Assistant: Level I
Hours: Approximately 20 hours per week, 3 weeks per month
Allegiance Medical Group (AMG) is seeking a motivated and experienced Radiologic Technologist to join our team as a Level 1 Radiologic-Medical Assistant Technologist. As a Level 1 Technologist, you will be responsible for supporting with disability and physical exams for uniformed service members, veterans, and other types of federal employees.
Responsibilities:
- Perform radiologic exams and procedures as ordered by physicians
- Prepare patients for radiologic exams and procedures
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure patient confidentiality
- Assist physicians with exams and procedures as needed
- Provide excellent patient care and customer service
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
- Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Current state license to practice radiologic technology
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Purpose: First line of contact for the Veterans when entering AMG Clinics. Performing all diagnostics testing for veterans while in the clinic as described under Core Responsibilities. Always being friendly, courteous and compassionate when interacting with examinees.
Soft Skills: Good communication skills, teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, time management, and emotional intelligence. Always being on time and dependable for your shift.
Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 40+ pounds
Years Experience: 0-2 years; Entry Level position
Willingness to learn all of the following core responsibilities:
X-Ray Technologist Duties:
- Operate x-ray equipment to capture radiographic images as per orders.
- Ensure the quality of imaging and troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Report damaged or malfunctioning x-ray equipment to management promptly.
Medical Assistant Duties:
- Perform vital sign checks and diagnostic testing (e.g., Pulmonary Function Tests, EKGs, ABIs, Audiograms, Smell tests, Vision screening).
- Screen for contraindications and ensure the accuracy of test results.
- Assist providers by identifying when additional medical attention is required.
Lab Testing & Phlebotomy:
- Collect and label blood and urine samples, ensuring patient safety and proper identification.
- Use proper techniques for sample storage, transport, and processing, including centrifuging blood samples.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the phlebotomy station, adhering to infection control protocols.
Administrative Duties:
- Schedule appointments and process test results with a focus on privacy and HIPPA compliance.
- Assist with ordering supplies, clinic housekeeping, and managing DaySmart entries.
- Aid in chart preparation and chart review for providers.
- Assist in training new staff as needed.
Clinic Upkeep:
- General housekeeping tasks and maintaining cleanliness throughout the clinic.
- Ensure proper clinical attire and hygiene.
Physical Requirements: Being able to stand, lift, carry, or sit for extended periods of time.
