GENERAL DESCRIPTION

This position is a part of the Information System team. This position is responsible for maintaining the computing environment by identifying network requirements, installing upgrades and monitoring network performance. This position assesses the viability of the network to address the needs of the organization. 

Requirements

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Network Security & Access Management - Secures and manages network access through monitoring, controls, evaluations, and maintenance of required documentation.

2. Network Design & Architecture - Designs, configures, and administers network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems) based on workflow, access, performance, and security requirements.

3. Network Performance & Troubleshooting - Monitors network availability and utilization, performs performance tuning, troubleshoots issues, and escalates problems to vendors as needed.

4. Network Documentation & Procedures - Develops and maintains documentation for network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting related to network hardware and software.

5. Server & Storage Systems Management - Configures, installs, tests, maintains, monitors, upgrades, and implements servers, operating systems, and storage systems, including SAN and direct-attached storage.

6. System Security, Backups & Business Continuity - Maintains system security, backup processes, and business continuity practices; participates in security risk assessments and provides system/security reports upon request.

7. Change Management & System Upgrades - Coordinates and schedules server, storage, and system changes with stakeholders, tracks upgrades, and ensures adherence to organizational change control processes.

8. Hardware & Software Lifecycle Management - Receives, inventories, and manages hardware and software assets, ensuring proper deployment and lifecycle tracking.

9. Licensing, Contracts & Cost Management - Ensures compliance with licensing and contracted obligations and communicates changes in maintenance costs to administration.

10. Technical Support, Training & Strategic Planning - Trains IT staff on new hardware and software, assists administration with technology needs assessments and pricing, and supports long-term infrastructure planning.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Associates degree or postsecondary certificate in IT related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. 

2. IT Related Certifications preferred: Networking, Security, CMWA (Certified Wireless Network Administrator), Comp Tia 701 and 702. 

3. At least three (3) years of experience in Network Management, preferably in a healthcare setting. 

4. Must possess a valid driver’s license, as travel is regularly required. Must maintain driving standards- no more than 2 minor or 1 major driving violations within a 3-year lookback period.

9. Technical Skills including Core Networking (TCP/IP, OSI Model, routing protocols, switching, DNS, DHCP), Security (Firewalls, VPNs, intrustion detection, cybersecurity principles), 


WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color, distance vision and depth perception. Travel to other location is also a requirement.
