Description
Join our dedicated care team! We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant in CDHA's Davidson Office to support our Gastroenterology providers in delivering safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is committed to exceptional service and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support to Physicians, Advanced Care Providers, and RNs in the delivery of gastrointestinal care.
- Greet and room patients; verify patient identity using two identifiers; obtain vital signs, medical history, medication/allergy updates, and current symptoms.
- Prepare exam rooms, maintain cleanliness, and ensure all supplies and equipment are stocked and safe.
- Assist with clinical procedures such as breath tests, pill cam placements, and specimen collection.
- Complete lab requisitions and prepare specimens for pickup.
- Document all clinical information accurately in the EHR and ensure medical charts remain current.
- Manage prescription refills, pre-certifications, authorizations, and referrals.
- Triage patient calls according to protocol and schedule appointments.
- Educate patients on procedures, conditions, and care plans.
- Ensure timely scheduling and follow-up on labs, imaging, and procedure orders.
- Contribute to patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, OSHA, AAAHC).
- Support practice operations through teamwork, communication, and a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Perform other duties as assigned within scope.
- Maintain knowledge, skills and abilities through ongoing education.
- Participate in performance improvement activities.
- Maintain compliance with all laws and applicable regulatory requirements; act promptly to comply with required changes.

Requirements
Education/ and or Experience:
· RMA or CMA certification preferred
· Two year certificate from college or technical school; or minimum of one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
