Birthday Party Programmer
Description

SUMMARY: Responsible for implementing birthday party programs, which incorporate the mission and philosophy of the Tallahassee Museum. Performs work involving birthday party programs. This is part-time, as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Implements programs and activities for the Museum’s birthday parties. 

Must be available on weekends.

Gathers materials, sets up parties, and prepares any activities that are scheduled.

Responsible for greeting parents and helping them to the party site.

Make sure party site is left clean and that everything is picked up and put back in the appropriate place. 

Follows directions from the Education Registration Manager in preparing for and implementing birthday parties, and cleaning up post party.

Communicate with the Education Registration Manager in making sure the parties are presented as agreed upon with the parents.

Responsible for letting Education Registration Manager know their work availability.

Contributes to maintaining high morale among all Tallahassee Museum employees.

Develops and maintains cooperative and courteous relationships with department employees, staffers and managers in other departments, representatives from organizations, customers, and the general public so as to maintain good will toward the Tallahassee Museum’s image.

Must become aware of the Museum’s facilities, programs, and activities in order to better assist visitors.

Tactfully and effectively handles requests, suggestions and complaints from the public and/or other departments in order to maintain good will within the Tallahassee Museum. These are to be reported promptly to the Education Registration Manger.

Emphasizes the importance of maintaining a positive image within the Museum.

Interfaces effectively with customers, the general public and staff.

Help to enforce Museum rules with Museum visitors as needed and initiates a quick response if required.

Complies with all Museum policies, procedures, and practices.

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:

Will help train other Birthday Party Programmers as needed.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Prior experience working with children and adults.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, and party information sheets. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts and additional fees.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardizations exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LISCENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have a current Florida Drivers License and a safe driving record.
