General Position Summary:

The Systems Engineer (SE) is responsible for implementing and maintaining information systems that will adequately support the enterprise infrastructure of the organization.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, applications, and system management tools to ensure optimal performance, security, and compliance with industry standards.
  • Proactively monitor, maintain, and optimize system and infrastructure performance to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability.
  • Implement and manage backup, and redundancy solutions to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support to internal teams and clients, resolving complex technical issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
  • Collaborate with vendors, partners, and cross-functional IT teams to troubleshoot, resolve, and prevent recurring infrastructure challenges.
  • Assess existing systems to identify risks, performance gaps, and improvement opportunities; recommend and implement enhancements to strengthen reliability and security.
  • Maintain systems with current patches, configurations, and security updates, ensuring compliance with vendor support and audit requirements.
  • Support IT and security audits, compliance initiatives, and ongoing learning to stay current with emerging technologies, trends, and best practices.

Requirements
  • Strong background and hands-on experience with Red      Hat and Ubuntu Linux systems, including configuration,      performance tuning, data recovery, and patch management.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache/MySQL      and PHP administration, backup and restore.
  • Hands-on experience with Windows Server (up      through 2022) deployments, configuration, and patch management.
  • Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere 7/8      (vCenter Server & ESXi), VMware Site Recovery Manager (SRM).
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise storage      platforms, Pure Storage and TrueNAS preferred but not required.
  • Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining      data-protection solutions, Veeam preferred, but not required.
  • Experience managing production deployments from a GitHub CI/CD pipeline.
  • Experience with Certificate Management,      on-premises Microsoft CA and public CAs.
  • Experience with SFTP/file exchange solutions and      Managed File Transfer (MFT)
  • Knowledge of VMware Aria Operations, VMware Aria      Operations for Logs, and VMware NSX.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server (2005–2019)      backup, restore, and performance optimization. (position does not involve      database administration)
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy      Objects (GPO), and domain-level administration.
  • Comprehensive understanding of network protocols      and services including DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, firewalls.

Physical Requirements

The work is of an intellectual nature. While performing the functions of this job, the employee is required to stand and sit for prolonged periods. Specific vision abilities required include close and medium distance vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to hear normal sounds, distinguish sound as voice and communicate through human speech. This position requires the ability to operate a keyboard, computer mouse, telephone, fax, copier, writing tools, and other standard office equipment. On an occasion, an employee will be asked to lift items weighing up to 35 lbs.

$81,750.00 - $109,000.00
