Physician Assistant is responsible to provide high quality patient service to support the provision of care within the urology department in coordination with the Urologist. Interacts with patients, families, and staff members to promote excellent patient care and management in the Urology practice.
· Conducts patient assessments including medical history, physical exams, and diagnostic tests.
· Assist in diagnosis and treatment of urologic conditions such as kidney stones, urinary tract infections, incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and prostate issues.
· Performs or assists with urologic procedures such as cystoscopies, catheter placements and replacements, bladder scans, and urodynamic studies.
· Provide preoperative and postoperative patient care and education.
· Write and manage patient progress notes, orders, and prescriptions in the electronic medical record.
· Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
· Educate patients and families about diagnosis, procedures, medications, and ongoing care.
· Respond to patient inquiries and manage follow-up care.
· Communicate with patients via various communication avenues, including secure messaging.
· Participates with any department quality indicators.
· Maintains compliance with all hospital policies as well as compliance with all State, Federal and CMS policies of licensing and certification.
· Responsible to maintain medical record privacy and security according to hospital policies and procedures at all times.
· Demonstrate a clear understanding of, and commitment to, the hospital’s mission, vision and values as well as service excellence standards while completing all tasks and responsibilities.
· Seeks out needed information by staying informed and involved by attending meetings, reading policies, meeting minutes, newsletters, email and other appropriate information in a timely manner.
· Performs duties in a safe manner, in compliance with all safety policies and procedures
Maintains current knowledge of the hospital-wide Quality Improvement Program.
· Collaborates with management to improve the effectiveness of the department through the Quality Improvement plans and processes.
· Participates in the departmental and hospital-wide Quality Improvement activities as directed by the manager.

· Valid DEA.
