THE JOB:
The Equipment and Maintenance Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in planning, coordinating, and supervising the maintenance and repair of company equipment and facilities. This bilingual professional (English and Spanish) will assist the Equipment & Maintenance Manager in overseeing departmental operations, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and adherence to company policies while fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Assist in managing and overseeing daily departmental operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and controlling preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Assist in scheduling and controlling preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment and facilities.
- Assist in supervising and supporting maintenance staff, providing direction, guidance, and performance feedback.
- Assist in administering parts and inventory management, including requests, purchases, vendor contracts, and equipment warranties.
- Assist in monitoring and analyzing fuel consumption, maintenance expenses, parts usage, and inventory reports.
- Assist in reviewing and validating information in maintenance software (FleetMate) and contribute to the development and improvement of operational processes.
- Assist in conducting financial analysis and assist in budget preparation and strategic decision-making.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
Requirements

- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- General knowledge of diesel mechanics (preferred certification).
- Experience in supervision, administration, and coordination of maintenance activities.
- Knowledge of parts and inventory management processes.
- Ability to influence, motivate, and develop work teams, fostering responsibility and discipline.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, internet tools, diagnostic software, and willingness to learn new platforms quickly.
- Demonstrated ethical conduct, integrity, punctuality, and commitment to achieving goals.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing operational demands.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move around facilities or equipment areas for extended periods.
- Must be able to lift, carry, or move equipment and parts weighing up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity to operate diagnostic tools and computer systems.
- Tolerance for working in environments with moderate noise, dust, and varying temperatures (indoor/outdoor).
- Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing inspections or maintenance-related tasks.
