JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility is to facilitate on-site and/or virtual learning experiences for state FFA officers in each of FFA’s 52 state associations, as assigned. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, facilitating conference curriculum, offering constructive feedback in a safe environment, and providing guidance to participants in areas such as positive influence, conversation skills, team development, public speaking, and workshop facilitation. The conference group size will vary depending on the needs of each state and facilitators should be prepared to meet expectations for all group sizes. Conferences with more than 20 participants may result in sending two facilitators.
Additionally, facilitators will work with state staff to develop conference schedules to meet the needs of the individual state. Conferences typically range from 2-5 days in length, not including travel time for in-person experiences. Many conferences fall during the work week. The conference season will begin on or after March 17, 2026, and is expected to run year-round through March 2027. Facilitators will be expected to maintain flexibility through the start of the conference season, at which point conferences will be assigned.
Conference facilitators will also handle administrative tasks which include, but are not limited to, timely completion of expense vouchers, arranging travel, and corresponding with state and national FFA staff. Facilitators are required to participate in the entire duration of a facilitator training held in Indianapolis, IN.
For the 2026-27 staff, any hired facilitators who have served in this role in the last 3 years will be required to arrive in Indianapolis by 7:00pm on March 13 and attend the training March 13-16, 2026. All other hired facilitators will be required to arrive in Indianapolis anytime on March 12 to attend the training on March 13-16, 2026. All facilitators will be able to travel home after 2:00pm on March 16. All facilitators are expected to prepare for training by completing a list of objectives in January, February, and March 2026. Facilitators will also be expected to participate in regular virtual coaching conversations throughout the season.
Applicants selected for this position will be ineligible to run for National FFA Office or serve on the National FFA Officer Nominating Committee.
Compensation for this position is based on a set rate per focus area facilitated, which factors in curriculum hours facilitated, preparation time, and travel. Lodging, transportation, and meal expenses will be covered and/or reimbursed. Facilitators will be compensated for their participation in the March training and winter pre-training work. For more information and details, please consult the State Officer Programs Facilitator Frequently Asked Questions document.
