Purpose of Position: The KnoxWorx Placement Career Coordinator is a full-time position dedicated to empowering program participants by guiding them toward meaningful career pathways and employment opportunities. KnoxWorx focuses on serving individuals who have dropped out of high school and/or are justice-involved. This position is primarily focused on providing career counseling, developing job readiness skills, connecting participants with employers, and supporting them in securing and retaining employment.

- Proficiency in Microsoft programs (Excel, Word, database management, etc.)
Essential Functions:
- Develop and maintain partnerships with employers and training providers (Educational Institutions, On-the-Job Training Providers, Apprenticeships etc.) that will provide career opportunities aligned with the interests, goals and benefit of KnoxWorx participants. This will include networking and making presentations about KnoxWorx.
- Outline and oversee a clear plan for placement (employment or further training) with each KnoxWorx participant.
- Meet with participants at regular intervals to identify placement goals, then evaluate placement plan and make modifications, as needed, with a commitment to their progress and success.
- Interview participants relative to placements being sought and make connections with placement opportunities.
- Ensure participants are prepared before going to job interviews, and conduct follow-up assessments.
- Work closely with employers and training providers to maximize participant employment retention and success.
- Provide evaluation, conciliation, and mediation between employer and employee post job placement.
- Contribute to KnoxWorx program refinements in ways that meet the needs and expectation of employers and training providers.
- Develops strategies, working alongside case managers, to engage and support participants post-program with job development, training, and educational opportunities. Assist with re-placement when initial placement is not successful.
- Identify and schedule career-related guest speakers, site visits, job shadow experiences, and informational interviews.
- Ongoing development and facilitation of job readiness opportunities and classes. Serves as a consistent trainer.
- Completes necessary data entry and documentation.
- Participation in all appropriate staff meetings, retreats, etc. as assigned by your supervisor
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; experience with disadvantaged individuals and communities a plus
*This position transports program participants. A driving record will be reviewed by our insurance company. Any violations need to be discussed during the interview process

Physical Requirements:
· Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
· Prolonged periods standing outside on active worksites
· Bending and twisting.
· Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
