JOB SUMMARY:
The Teller provides prompt, efficient, and friendly services to customers, involving receipt and payment of cash, and to recognize customers’ needs with suggestions appropriate to the Bank’s services. Follows the established policies and procedures for this area, in accordance with the Bank and the supervisor’s direction.
The Deposit Counselor opens accounts, explains and processes investment transactions, sells other financial services, corrects customer records and performs other duties assigned by supervisor.
Teller position:
A) Accepts checks for cashing, receives checking and related accounts; accepts deposits, verifies cash and endorsements, make change, and issue receipts.
B) Receives savings deposits, pays withdrawals after verifying balance and signature; redeems US Savings Bonds. Accepts various utility payments.
C) Process credit card cash advances and receive loan payments.
D) Process night deposits and mail-in deposits.
E) Sells money orders, cashier’s checks, and other Bank services.
F) Responds to customers’ inquiries as appropriate.
G) Maintain proper cash level in drawers, keeps cash secure, and maintains a high level of safety for the Bank. Services ATM according to schedule or need.
H) Accepts ‘stop payment” requests and address changes, and wire transfers, distributing to proper personnel for processing.
I) Performs other tasks requested by supervisor as they relate to the Bank and its function.
J) Handle Fraud paperwork, ATM Fraud.
Deposit Counselor position:
A) Interviews customers. Determines the financial services they desire. Explains to them their alternative. Cross-sells products and services.
B) Opens accounts by preparing the appropriate documents.
C) Rents safe deposit boxes; admits customers to safe deposit vault.
D) Respond to customers’ inquiries as appropriate.
E) Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.
F) Must be able to multi-task between deposit counselor and teller functions.
