JOB SUMMARY:


The Manager of Revenue Accounting is responsible for assisting with overseeing and managing all revenue accounting functions. This role assists with ensuring that revenue is recognized properly under relevant accounting standards (e.g. ASC 606, IFRS 15), reconciled accurately, and reported in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between revenue operations/sales/contract teams and accounting, helping to maintain strong internal controls and deliver reliable financial statements. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate revenue reporting, optimizing billing workflows, and collaborating across departments to drive operational efficiency and financial transparency. 

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in leading revenue recognition process in compliance with applicable accounting standards (e.g., ASC606, IFRS15) 
  • Ensure timely and accurate revenue reporting across all integrated business units
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue close. Assist with preparation of journal entries, adjustments, and reconciliations related to deferred revenue, deferred costs, unbilled revenue, etc. 
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of revenue accounting professionals, assigning responsibilities and overseeing work for integrated business units
  • Review, interpret, and monitor contracts, amendments, renewals, and terminations to ensure accurate revenue accounting treatment
  • Work closely with RevOps / Sales / Legal / Customer Success teams to understand contract terms (billing schedules, performance obligations, etc.)
  • Coordinate with AP, AR, and Collections teams to resolve revenue-related issues
  • Maintain and improve internal controls around revenue processes to ensure integrity and accuracy
  • Perform variance analyses to identify unexpected trends or discrepancies in revenue, liaising with other departments to resolve
  • Ensure accurate revenue reporting for management, audits, and external financial statements. Support external audit of revenue recognition processes
  • Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for revenue accounting

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in revenue accounting in financial reporting, with direct experience implementing or managing ASC606, IFRS15
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of revenue accounting supervisory experience 
  • Experience in professional services or legal consulting is required
  • Excellent analytical skills; attention to detail; ability to reconcile complex datasets 
  • Strong communication skills; ability to collaborate cross-functionally (with legal, sales, operations) 
  • Demonstrated leadership / management experience; ability to coach and develop staff 

EDUCATION & TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge. Deep understanding of revenue recognition, contract accounting, deferred and unbilled revenue, etc. 
  • Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems; experience with revenue management tools (e.g., Sage Intacct, NetSuite, Dynamics) a plus 

LOCATION:


This position is 100% remote and supports east to west coast time zones.
