Role Summary
Newfi is seeking a Business Development Representative (BDR) to expand our network of approved broker partners nationwide. The BDR plays a critical role in Newfi’s growth strategy by engaging with prospective broker clients, guiding them through the approval process, and supporting them in submitting and closing loans with Newfi.
The BDR plays a critical role in Newfi’s growth strategy. This is a front-line sales role focused on identifying, engaging, and converting prospects in our database into approved broker clients — and ultimately helping expand the number of loan officers actively closing loans with Newfi.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment, is passionate about building relationships, and is motivated by results. The candidate must be comfortable with heavy outbound activities to identify and develop new relationships.
What You’ll Own
Prospect Engagement & Conversion
- Proactively reach out to prospects in Newfi’s CRM/database to introduce our wholesale lending platform and products.
- Qualify leads and guide them through the broker approval process, ensuring a smooth and positive onboarding experience.
- Consistently convert prospects into approved clients and hand them off seamlessly to the Account Executive (AE) team.
Pipeline Development
- Build and maintain a steady pipeline of new broker partners.
- Track activity and progress in the CRM, providing regular updates on prospect status and conversion metrics.
Growth & Activation
- Drive growth in the total number of loan officers actively submitting and closing loans with Newfi.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams on targeted outreach campaigns and strategies to maximize engagement.
Market Intelligence
- Gather feedback from prospects and clients to inform product development and sales strategies.
- Stay current on industry trends and competitor offerings to position Newfi as a premier wholesale lender.
Success Metrics
- New Account Approvals. Achieving or exceeding monthly and quarterly targets for the number of prospects converted into approved broker accounts.
- Activation Growth. Driving measurable growth in the total number of loan officers actively submitting and closing loans with Newfi.
- Conversion Efficiency. Maintaining high conversion rates from initial outreach to account approval.
- Pipeline Activity. Meeting or exceeding weekly outreach activity goals (calls, emails, and meetings) to ensure consistent pipeline flow.
- Revenue Impact. Contributing directly to overall funded loan volume growth through effective prospect conversion and activation efforts.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of sales or business development experience (mortgage, fintech, or B2B sales preferred)
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated
- Experience using CRM tools to manage leads and track activity
- Goal-driven with a passion for exceeding performance targets
- Excellent communicator and coach; high judgment on when to inspect vs. empower.
- Hands-on with CRM and enablement tools (e.g., Salesforce or equivalent), call recording analytics, and basic BI dashboards.
Compensation
- Base Salary: Competitive and commensurate with experience
- Commission based on:
- Number of new broker accounts approved
- Growth in the total number of loan officers actively closing loans with Newfi
- [1 bps override on loans closed over the first 6 months of any new relationship developed by the BDR.]
