ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Manager is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating all phases of a construction project. This includes project start-up, procurement, cost accounting, billings, and reporting, as well as serving as the primary liaison with owners, architects, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers. This position reports to the Project Director assigned to the project, who will conduct the annual review.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage client expectations and relationships
  • Lead project start-up activities and administration (submittals, RFIs, etc.)
  • Oversee project cost accounting, subcontractor negotiations, and purchase orders
  • Prepare and process applications for payment
  • Generate, track, and update project schedules
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors
  • Manage project budgets, performance, and change orders
  • Lead OAC meetings and ensure compliance with M&F policies and procedures
  • Minimize risk exposure and manage job cost reporting, invoicing, and receivables
  • Analyze profitability, revenue, and utilization across multiple projects
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of owner contracts and ensure compliance
  • Support business development through client relationships and pursuit interviews
  • Mentor, develop, and train team members for growth
  • Maximize M&F’s visibility in the community and model company values

What You Bring

  • 5+ Years on Construction Project Mangement Experience 
  • Ability to integrate into and strengthen M&F’s culture
  • Strong team orientation with the ability to build trust and influence others
  • Willingness to step into superintendent responsibilities as needed
  • Goal-oriented, adaptable, and organized work approach
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with effective listening skills
  • Ability to anticipate and resolve conflicts during design and construction
  • Experience managing multiple simultaneous projects
  • Desire and ability to mentor, lead, and build team morale
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial construction principles and practices

Requirements

The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, honesty, loyalty, and work ethic, and holds a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or Business. They have five or more years of progressive experience in construction management for a large-scale general contractor, with direct experience managing projects ranging from $5 million to over $50 million. The candidate is proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Bluebeam, project management software such as Prolog or similar, scheduling software such as Project or similar, and BIM tools including AutoCAD, Revit, or Navisworks. They have a proven history of leading successful project teams, developing direct reports, maintaining strong relationships with external partners, and are experienced in managing various contract types and delivery methods.
