Position Summary

The HVAC Field Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing day-to-day HVAC field activities, ensuring projects and service operations are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role serves as the link between field crews, project managers, and company leadership, with a focus on workforce management, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and support HVAC field supervisors, foremen, and technicians.
     
  • Oversee scheduling, manpower allocation, and resource planning for multiple projects and service calls.
     
  • Ensure all HVAC installations, retrofits, and service work meet company quality standards, project specifications, and code compliance.
     
  • Monitor job progress, productivity, and labor performance to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget.
     
  • Conduct regular site visits to review safety, quality, and operational performance.
     
  • Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations for field staff.
     
  • Partner with project managers and estimators to support accurate job costing, bids, and planning.
     
  • Implement and enforce safety policies, OSHA regulations, and company procedures.
     
  • Assist with resolving technical challenges and escalated customer issues.
     
  • Track equipment, materials, and tool inventories across projects.
     
  • Report on field operations, KPIs, and workforce performance to leadership.
     

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of HVAC experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
     
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, installation practices, service operations, and mechanical codes.
     
  • Proven ability to manage multiple crews across various projects simultaneously.
     
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
     
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in job costing, labor tracking, and scheduling.
     
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred.
     
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; knowledge of project management or service software (e.g., Procore, ServiceTitan, Bluebeam) is a plus.
     
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
