Job Summary: The CNC Sales Support Specialist enhances the productivity, technical readiness, and effectiveness of the sales organization by delivering the quotations, tools, resources, training, and CNC-specific content required to succeed in a complex capital-equipment sales environment.
This role is responsible for preparing accurate, timely, and detailed quotations for CNC machine tools, accessories, automation systems, and related services. The specialist partners closely with Sales, Applications Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, Operations, and Procurement to ensure quotes accurately reflect technical requirements, customer specifications, and company pricing and profitability guidelines.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically curious, and motivated to empower sales teams with the knowledge and resources needed to sell advanced CNC machining solutions with confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
Quotation Development
- Prepare detailed and accurate quotes for machine tools, tooling packages, and automation systems based on vendor and internal engineering quotes.
- Identify configuration options, compatible accessories, and value-added solutions based on customer needs.
- Calculate pricing using standard cost models, vendor price lists, and internal guidelines.
Sales Support
- Provide internal support to sales teams by answering technical questions regarding machine specifications and available configurations.
- Assist with quote follow-ups, corrections, and adjustments as needed.
- Support the implementation of standardized sales processes and best practices.
- Monitor engagement with enablement tools and recommend optimizations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Sales, Applications Engineering, Marketing, Product Management, and Sales Operations to ensure alignment between technical content, sales messaging, and product strategy.
- Gather feedback from sales teams to improve enablement content, processes, training, and sales tools.
- Support coordination of open houses, training events, and other technical sales events.
Systems, Tools, and Training Enablement
- Provide user support and training for CRM and other sales systems (e.g., quoting, lead management, configuration tools).
- Document best practices to improve efficiency in quoting, configuring, and tracking CNC machines and automation solutions.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of onboarding programs, including product and CRM training.
- Support the maintenance and updating of training materials, playbooks, and SOPs.
Content & Resource Management
- Ensure sales teams have access to current and accurate technical materials for every stage of the capital equipment buying process.
- Organize and manage sales content libraries, ensuring materials are easy to find, up-to-date, and aligned with product positioning.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Understanding of machine tools (e.g., CNC lathes, mills, work holding, tooling) and industrial equipment terminology strongly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in sales, sales support, training, or a related role, in the machine tool industry strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and other sales productivity tools.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn and adapt.

Travel Requirements:
- Approximately 10% of time, for training and meetings as required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be willing to travel as required.
- Must be able to communicate clearly both in person and virtually.
