Make a hands-on impact this summer by leading outdoor education experiences and caring for animals at Timber-lee’s Science Center!
What You’ll Do:
- Care for animals and maintain activity areas
- Lead activities like Creation Walk, fishing, Animal Encounters & more
- Help campers engage with God’s creation through fun, educational experiences
- Welcome and assist campers, staff, and guests
- Offer feedback and ideas to improve Science Center programs
- Participate in training and team meetings
- Assist with camper arrival/departure on weekends
- Participate in other camp activities as planned by the Recreation and Ministry Departments, as the schedule allows, mainly after dinner hours.
- Flex into other roles and temporary assignments to other duties (including Cabin Leader) if needed

Spiritual
- Is a professing Christian and is supportive of Timber-lee’s mission and core values as well as committed to the truths found in our Statement of Faith.
- Commitment to a Christian lifestyle and demonstration of character in keeping with the biblical model.
- Exhibits a sincere love for the Lord and desires to see people come to know Him personally and grow in their faith.
Organizational
- Agrees with, and supports, Timber-lee's ministries, philosophy and policies.
- Demonstrates excellent work ethic; excels at providing quality guest experiences.
- Understands and exhibits behaviors and skills needed to function in, and be accountable in, a team environment.
- Shows a positive and cooperative attitude of ministry to the position, guests, and fellow employees.
Positional
- Has the patience to be involved with campers and other guests, answering questions, dealing with animal messes, etc.
- Has excellent communication skills and the ability to teach and lead others.
- Is able to handle and care for animals within the Science Center, following all departmental guidelines. Allergens in the Science Center include tree nuts, peanuts, gluten, citrus, and animal dander.
- Able to occasionally lift up to 25lbs.
- Is able to physically traverse the multi-terrain campground; able to be on one’s feet for long periods of time.
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire to be considered for this position.
