Director, Health Economic Modeling

This is a highly technical position with the primary focus on advising multiple project teams in the design and development of health economic models (cost-effectiveness models, budget impact models, and cost calculators) for our clients. In this role, the individual will be responsible for:

  • providing both technical and strategic advice to internal project teams on all aspects associated with health economic modeling
  • providing guidance, as needed, during external project team meetings with clients
  • providing a critical review of project deliverables to ensure high quality
  • providing technical advice and/or review of modifications made to existing models for local HTA reimbursement efforts
  • Along with the Project Managers, keeping track of the project deliverables and invoicing/revenue recognition timelines

The individual is responsible for fostering an environment of continuous learning within the Economic Modeling staff by:

  • leading and supporting the training program for new staff
  • mentoring staff during internal project team meetings
  • actively leading regular weekly departmental meetings
  • expanding one’s own knowledge regarding new modeling methods and requirements for potential use in projects

The individual is also expected to support efforts to secure additional projects by:

  • leading the technical team in writing and critically reviewing proposals for new model-based projects
  • using their established client relationships to generate RFPs
  • strengthening existing client relationships
  • supporting the development of new client connections in coordination with the Business Development team
  • supporting efforts by the Marketing department to enhance the CHEORS brand
Requirements
  •  PhD (preferred) or master’s degree in Health Economics, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or Operation Research
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the design and development of health economic models
  • Strong technical expertise in building models in Excel/VBA; knowledge of R or C++ desirable
  • Leadership skills with proven ability to work with clients of varying backgrounds in the life sciences industry
  • Past employment within the Pharmaceutical Companies is a plus
  • Research- and detail-oriented with strong quantitative skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with record of scientific publications and presentations
  • Ability to multi-task effectively in a fast-paced team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, proven track record of building strong relationships and establishing credibility across hierarchies
  • Proficiency in MS Word and PowerPoint
