Description
The Mid-Level Application Developer supports the development, maintenance, testing, and enhancement of Navy information systems for the Naval Sea Logistics Center (NAVSEALOGCEN). This role includes full software development lifecycle (SDLC) tasks, secure coding practices, database-driven application development, and compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) standards and cybersecurity requirements.
The Application Developer contributes to application modernization, code sustainment, integration, and technical documentation across multiple mission-critical Navy systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain database-driven IT applications using approved programming languages and frameworks.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, and deployment.
- Ensure applications comply with Navy cybersecurity and performance standards.
- Work with analysts, project managers, and stakeholders to translate requirements into functional solutions.
- Perform troubleshooting, debugging, and system enhancements.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications.
- Support upgrades, patches, and integration of new software tools.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure software solutions meet customer and mission requirements.
Requirements
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related IT field.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT application development.
- Experience designing and developing database-driven IT applications.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as:
- C++, Java/J2EE, Visual Basic, .NET, HTML/XML, PowerBuilder, or Delphi.

- Certifications:
- Cybersecurity Workforce (CWF) certification required: IAT Level II.'
