Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Virtualization Administrator to design, implement, and maintain our enterprise virtualization platforms. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in VMware vSphere, KVM or Oracle Linux Virtualization Manager (OLVM), and cloud-based infrastructure in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This role will be responsible for ensuring high availability, scalability, and security of mission-critical virtual environments, as well as guiding the adoption of cloud technologies to support organizational growth.
Duties
- Administer end to end OCI tenancies
- Support migration of workloads between on-premises virtualization platforms and OCI.
- Manage and optimize VMware vSphere environments, including vCenter, ESXi and vSAN.
- Administer OLVM clusters, ensuring performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Oversee provisioning, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management of virtualized workloads.
- Manage virtual machine provisioning, resource allocation and optimization.
- Optimize cloud resource utilization, monitor costs, and ensure security compliance.
- Monitor performance metrics across virtualization and cloud platforms to ensure SLAs are met.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud resources.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Ansible, or Terraform) to streamline provisioning and management tasks.
- Conduct regular audits, patching, and vulnerability management across platforms.
- Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
- Work closely with architecture, networking, storage, and application teams to deliver integrated solutions.
- Participate in planning, evaluating, and adopting emerging virtualization and cloud technologies.
- Ability to work on-call rotations and off-hour assignments as needed.
- Document procedural runbooks to be utilized by all team members
Qualifications
- Four-year degree in related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
- 5-7 years of advanced technical support in a structured team environment.
- Prior experience in a Managed Services Provider (MSP) or advanced technical support environment is required. Must be familiar with working in a 24/7/365 environment.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and glean results from complex technical relationships.
- Ability to complete projects/tasks on-time, on/under budget track record is preferred.
- Knowledge of virtualization environments: VMware (required), OLVM, Azure HCI.
- Experience with Cloud Providers: OCI preferred, AWS or Azure acceptable.
- Strong understanding of storage (vSAN, SAN) and networking concepts (VLANs, firewalls).
- Experience with Nutanix is a plus.
- Experience with automation and configuration management tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
- Familiarity with change management processes and ticketing systems (Service Now Preferred).
- Knowledge of related industry best practices.
- Excellent service-driven customer-focused skills.
- Proven ability to work in both a team environment and independently. Exhibit a high level of individual initiative.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and successfully follow-to-completion all assigned tasks.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to take direction from all levels.

- Work from verbal and written instructions or requirements of varying levels of detail.
The estimated base rate range for this position: $124,000.00 - $155,000.00 per year. The actual hourly range is based on fair market value based on your geographical location, skills, role requirements, and responsibilities. This posted compensation is a good faith and reasonable estimate. Denovo reserves the right to adjust this range depending on the selected candidate's qualifications.
