Biolog is a leader in microbial identification, phenotypic cell profiling, and metabolic fingerprinting for microbial and mammalian cells. The main office is located in Hayward, CA, the company’s products enable the identification of thousands of species of bacteria, yeast, and fungi as well as characterization of human cells and mitochondria. Our second office is located in Delaware; Biolog Lab Services (BLS) formerly MIDI Labs, an innovator in microbial identification, currently offers contract microbiology laboratory services for multiomic microbial identification, phenotypic characterization, enumeration, and food borne pathogen testing to deliver critical, time-sensitive results for pharmaceutical, probiotic, food and beverage, and personal care manufacturing operations. Our third site, Anaerobe Systems in Morgan Hill, CA, specializes in anaerobic microbiology and manufactures proprietary anaerobic media and chambers used worldwide for culturing and studying strict anaerobes.

Together, these three locations make Biolog a comprehensive provider of microbial identification products and services, supporting customers across research, manufacturing, and clinical applications. Biolog products and services are available worldwide, either directly from the company or through an extensive network of international distributors.

What is the Job all About?

Position: BLS Sales Representative – West Coast

Location: Remote (West Coast- California Based Preferred)

Reports To: VP of Lab Services Commercial and Site Leader

The BLS Sales Representative– West Coast role is focused on expanding Biolog Lab Services’ reach and visibility throughout the western region of the United States. This position will play a key role in developing new business opportunities, particularly in food, biotech, pharmaceutical, and life sciences sectors, and supporting the growth of our Foodborne Pathogen Detection and Microbial Identification services.

The position will report directly to the VP of Lab Services Commercial and Site Leader, who manages the East Coast business and national strategy, to grow Biolog’s client base, strengthen partnerships, and drive new revenue opportunities.

Additional Information:

This is a remote position based on the West Coast and focused on growing Biolog Lab Services’ presence in the region. The role will work closely with the VP of Lab Services Commercial and Site Leader to develop and execute sales strategies and ensure a strong, coordinated presence across both coasts. Occasional travel to Newark, DE site or company events may be required.

Requirements

  

Responsibilities:

· Generate revenue through the BLS West Coast Lab Services.

· Conduct targeted outreach through email, calls, and LinkedIn to introduce Biolog Lab Services capabilities and qualify leads as they come in.

· Develop and manage a pipeline of new business opportunities across the West Coast and collaborate directly with the VP of Lab Services Commercial to close opportunities, as needed.

· Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers and partners.

· Work with Marketing to support campaigns, promotions, and new service launches.

· Track all activities and opportunities in the CRM system (Sales Force) and report progress regularly.

· Represent Biolog Lab Services at select industry conferences and regional events.

· Partner with lab operations, customer service, accounting and project teams to ensure smooth onboarding and high customer satisfaction.


Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in life science or related field.

· 2–5 years of experience in inside sales (contract services preferred) or business development within the life sciences, biotech, or analytical testing industries.

· Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

· Highly motivated, organized, and able to work independently.

· Experience using CRM tools such as Salesforce preferred.

· Ability to travel domestically up to 20% of the time.

· Must reside on the West Coast preferably California and be authorized to work in the United States.
