Beertender
Description

 

Beertenders are in charge of managing drink orders at the Smokehouse to keep customers satisfied during meals or  gatherings. They have extensive knowledge of our in-house beer selection, which they use to recommend pours to customers, while demonstrating proper beer pour technique. Beertenders may also entertain/maintain customers who sit at the bar by providing stimulating conversation and excellent customer service while filling drink orders for other customers. 

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of all proper food handling procedures

  • A growing knowledge of beer and craft beer brewing process/scene
  • Works with speed and efficiency, while maintaining workplace safety requirements 
  • Able to stand, walk, and be on your feet for prolonged periods throughout your shift
  • Able to read and follow instructions written in English
  • Able to regularly twist, turn, kneel, stoop, bend, crawl, lift, carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 55 pounds; using appropriate techniques and tools
  • Able to change beer kegs ranging from 1/6 barrel to 1/2 barrel in size
  • Able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise and occasionally slippery floors
  • Able to comply with and enforce all health, safety and personal hygiene policies and standards 
  • General understanding of beer and the varieties we offer
