The Market Manager – Defense is responsible to develop and implement strategic growth plan for HYDAC. You would be responsible for coordinating the sales efforts by directly calling on accounts and coordinating Key Account Managers to call on others. Sales transactions may be direct or through distribution.


This position will be from a home office/remote workspace ideally in the greater Detroit area. 


You will make an impact in this role by:


Tasks:

  • Responsible for developing and establishing the strategic growth plan - setting sales goals, including new business targets and objectives for the assigned vertical market and report on progress.
  • Oversee and manage customer relationships with assigned vertical market.
  • Increase sales and profit margin with assigned vertical market.
  • Drive HYDAC specifications within the respective targeted vertical market.
  • Drive product development for HYDAC for use within the assigned vertical market.
  • Effectively communicate market trends, competitive analysis.
  • Responsible for implementing HYDAC Corporate Sales Strategy and keeping CRM update for assigned accounts.
  • Review lost opportunities to provide feedback to manage for pricing, product, service/support and sales strategy.
  • Development and implementation of respective sales plans.
  • Responsible for coordinate internal resources (i.e. – Territory Managers, Key Account Managers, Product Managers) as required to support vertical market. If account is being supported by a distributor, responsible for working with distributor to coordinate support for HYDAC products and solutions.
  • Responsible for determining and coordinating required resource for the market including engineering and project management personnel.
  • Determine required resources and investment to be compliant with vertical market regulations.
  • Assist in reviewing contracts and agreements with key customers, partners, etc. in the vertical market.
  • New business opportunities should also be communicated to the Product Managers for review as required.
  • Submit a monthly report to consist of target account updates, quotation feedback, and distributor updates and training.
  • Provide HYDAC Corporate with other status changes, as well as forecast feedback at major accounts.
Requirements


To be considered for the Technical Inside Sales Specialist role, you must have the following minimum qualifications:


Skills and Attributes:

  • Highly motivated and self-driven.
  • Strong leadership skill to lead a team to address the defense market.
  • Ability to review and develop agreements and contracts.
  • Knowledge and relationships in the defense market.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategy plans around defense.
  • Ability to develop value proposition for HYDAC and it’s products/ solutions.
  • Ability to develop and foster customer relationships.
  • Strong interpersonal skills include the ability to develop cross-functional relationships.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including writing business correspondence, reports and presentation skills.
  • Ability develop and implement strategic direct.
  • Demonstrated ability to grow sales in a designated territory.
  • Customer empathy/ customer advocate mentality.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, develop and close prospect accounts.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Ability to use the Internet, Project Management software, spreadsheets and word processing software.
  • Ability to work independently to set daily priorities and workload.


Experience And Education:

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent with 3 years of experience or bachelor’s degree.
  • Hydraulics knowledge.
  • Minimum of 1 year of sales experience selling an engineered product.
  • Knowledge of government defense agencies and contractors.


The ideal candidate will have served in either the US Army or Marines and would have experience in procurement while in the military.
