Description
Summary: The Director of Manufacturing will lead and oversee the manufacturing operations for multiple manufacturing facilities, including plant operations, safety, quality, and lean/continuous improvement. In coordination with the VP Manufacturing, will be responsible for setting, planning and execution of the operations objectives. Ensures that the Manufacturing operations are well-coordinated and productive by managing its procedures and coaching its people.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Develop and implement manufacturing strategies that align with company objectives and drive operational excellence.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production schedules are met while optimizing resource utilization.
- Lead and mentor the manufacturing teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
- Drive a safety conscious culture through development and support of safety programs and training
- Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and quality assurance teams to enhance product quality and reduce costs.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess operational efficiency and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards, promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
- Manage budgets related to manufacturing operations, including labor, materials, and overhead costs, capital investments and plant inventory
- Drive initiatives for process improvements using Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies
Requirements
Experience/Skills Required:
- Excellent organizational and leadership abilities
- Outstanding communication and people skills
- In depth knowledge of diverse business functions and principles (e.g. supply chain, finance, sales, etc.)
- Strong background in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
- Strong background working with ERP systems and tools
- Demonstrate a process-oriented, data-driven mindset for decision making
- Ability to leverage operation metrics and other tools to drive performance
- Strong analytical problem-solving ability
- Ability to communicate at all levels and translate technical language for clarity
- Ability to build, develop and retain a high-performing team through assessment, recruiting, coaching, and developing others
- Administration and Management – Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

Minimum Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in administration, operations, engineering or applicable discipline, MBA strongly preferred
- 10+ years progressive experience in leadership role
- 5+ years’ experience in the manufacturing sector
