Sales Representative - Power Generation, Service & Controls (Northwest Territory)
Location: Remote – Northwest Region (Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada)
Salary: $110,000 – $125,000 per year + uncapped commission

Travel: As needed to client sites

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on independence, strategic thinking, and building strong, lasting customer relationships. You will take ownership of developing and maintaining a robust sales pipeline while providing consultative solutions for the industrial and power generation markets.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop and close business opportunities in the marine and power generation markets in the Northwest region according to targets. 
  • Build and strengthen relationships with new and existing clients through consultative engagement and technical insight. 
  • Evaluate inquiries, manage opportunities, and ensure accurate communication across internal teams. 
  • Deliver technical and sales presentations tailored to client needs. 
  • Maintain up-to-date market knowledge, including trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes. 
  • Create and execute sales plans to drive revenue growth and expand market presence. 
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and industry events. 
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure seamless customer experiences and strong after-sale support.
     

Required Skills, Experience & Abilities

  • 5+ years of technical outside sales or application engineering experience with a strong track record of prospecting, territory growth, and closing new business.
  • Experience in power generation, marine, industrial equipment, oil and gas, or related technical markets 
  • Demonstrated ability to independently prospect, qualify, and close opportunities
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills; able to influence and build trust with decision-makers. 
  • Strategic thinker who can execute tactically in fast-paced, evolving environments. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM software. 
  • Comfortable traveling up to 50% domestically.
     

Preferred Skills, Experience & Abilities

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). 
  • Experience in controls, automation, or engineered systems industries. 
  • Experience in marine and/or power generation markets
  • Knowledge of Woodward products or similar control solutions. 
  • Technical aptitude to understand system integration and performance. 
  • Solution-focused consultative selling experience.
