Community Health Centers of America is hiring for a Cardiologist to work in our family practice clinics in the Sacramento, CA area. Possibly will also work in partner long-term care facilities. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients for acute, episodic or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team, in the clinic setting.

Job Description:
- Obtains, analyzes, and interprets patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
- Diagnoses or treats acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, or injuries.
- Recommends diagnostic or therapeutic interventions.
- Prescribes medications.
- Educates patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses.
- Orders, performs, or interprets the results of diagnostic tests.
- Maintains complete and detailed records of patients' health care plans and prognoses.
- Detects and responds to adverse drug reactions.
- Perform follow-up visits to monitor patients or evaluate health or illness care.
- Performs cardiological physical examinations.
- Supervises or coordinates patient care or support staff activities.
- Maintains current knowledge of state legal regulations for nurse practitioner practice.
- Keeps abreast of regulatory processes and payer systems.
- Obtains health information from patient.
- Performs physical examinations and assesses any medical problems.
- Practices safe and healthy control methods while working with patients.
- Educations patients and families concerning medical treatments, medications, etc.
- Administers or orders for diagnostic tests such as x-ray, electrocardiograms and lab tests.
- Interprets test results to diagnosis any related health issues.
- Counsel patients about compliance with medication.
- Assists in pre-operation or post-operation care.
- Coordinates activities of patient care.
- Document patient progress with medication or treatment.
- Collaborate with other physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, including healthcare professional staff to form a high performing medical team. Ensure compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures.
- Follow facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
- Follow facility and GHR Unusual Occurrence Protocol
- Respect cultural and religious practices of minor patients
- Uphold HIPAA regulations
- Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must possess a degree in medicine and a valid license from the California Medical Board.
- Experience: 3-5 years of related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Licenses/Certifications: Appropriate certifications and/or licensures
- Current BLS/ACLS required
- Current DEA required
- In depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices
