Community Health Centers of America is hiring for a Cardiologist to work in our family practice clinics in the Sacramento, CA area. Possibly will also work in partner long-term care facilities. You will be responsible for diagnosing and treating patients for acute, episodic or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team, in the clinic setting.

Job Description:

  • Obtains, analyzes, and interprets patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic information to develop appropriate diagnoses.  
  • Diagnoses or treats acute health care problems such as illnesses, infections, or injuries. 
  • Recommends diagnostic or therapeutic interventions. 
  • Prescribes medications. 
  • Educates patients about self-management of acute or chronic illnesses. 
  • Orders, performs, or interprets the results of diagnostic tests. 
  • Maintains complete and detailed records of patients' health care plans and prognoses. 
  • Detects and responds to adverse drug reactions. 
  • Perform follow-up visits to monitor patients or evaluate health or illness care. 
  • Performs cardiological physical examinations. 
  • Supervises or coordinates patient care or support staff activities. 
  • Maintains current knowledge of state legal regulations for nurse practitioner practice. 
  • Keeps abreast of regulatory processes and payer systems. 
  • Obtains health information from patient. 
  • Performs physical examinations and assesses any medical problems. 
  • Practices safe and healthy control methods while working with patients. 
  • Educations patients and families concerning medical treatments, medications, etc. 
  • Administers or orders for diagnostic tests such as x-ray, electrocardiograms and lab tests. 
  • Interprets test results to diagnosis any related health issues. 
  • Counsel patients about compliance with medication. 
  • Assists in pre-operation or post-operation care. 
  • Coordinates activities of patient care. 
  • Document patient progress with medication or treatment. 
  • Collaborate with other physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, including healthcare professional staff to form a high performing medical team. Ensure compliance and attention to all corporate policies and procedures.
  • Follow facility and OSHA safety rules and procedures while on assignment
  • Follow facility and GHR Unusual Occurrence Protocol 
  • Respect cultural and religious practices of minor patients 
  • Uphold HIPAA regulations 
  • Punctual and dependent for assigned/confirmed shifts

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must possess a degree in medicine and a valid license from the California Medical Board.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Licenses/Certifications: Appropriate certifications and/or licensures
  • Current BLS/ACLS required
  • Current DEA required
  • In depth knowledge of legal medical guidelines and medicine best practices

$400,000-600,000 per year, depending on exp
