Position Summary

The Enrollment Specialist serves as the welcoming first point of contact for prospective volunteers and families, guiding them through the enrollment process with exceptional customer service. This role coordinates and conducts interviews, evaluates suitability, and manages all vetting procedures including background checks and fingerprinting. By streamlining enrollment and removing barriers, the specialist ensures timely, compatible mentor-mentee matches while maintaining accurate records in the Big Brothers Big Sisters database and consistently promoting the organization’s mission and values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Be the first point of contact for potential volunteers and families, offering excellent customer service and guiding them through the enrollment process.

· Coordinate and schedule in-person and virtual interviews for volunteers and clients.

· Conduct interviews, assess suitability, and provide valuable information to volunteers and families.

· Remove barriers and simplify the enrollment process to ensure quick and effective matches.

· Conduct background checks, fingerprinting, and other essential steps for volunteer vetting.

· Help identify the right mentor-mentee matches based on compatibility and program needs.

· Enter data into the Big Brothers Big Sisters database and maintain accurate records.

· Promote Big Brothers Big Sisters values and programs with every interaction.

  

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

Education:
Professional program agency staff must have a high school diploma/GED and meet one of the following criteria:

  • A  documented bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field deemed appropriate by the agency, or be within six months of degree completion
  • A  documented associate degree or two years of higher education from an accredited institution in a relevant field, plus two years of related work experience (e.g., social work, counseling, child development)
  • Four years of relevant work experience in related fields as defined by the agency

Additional Requirements:

  • Strong communication and confidentiality skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and standard office equipment
  • Valid NM driver’s license, insurance, and access to personal vehicle
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with both youth and adult populations
  • Familiarity with New Mexico’s cultural and economic landscape
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Salary Description
$36,000 - $38,000 Annual Salary
