What Makes This Role Unique?

This is not a typical sales position.

As an Inside Sales Trainee, you'll gain hands-on exposure to multiple areas of the business while working alongside experienced team members. You'll learn how products move from the yard to the jobsite, how projects are estimated and coordinated, and how relationships are built with customers throughout the construction process.

You'll work with builders, contractors, architects, designers, remodelers, and homeowners while developing product knowledge in lumber, millwork, windows, doors, decking, siding, and specialty building materials.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in person, over the phone, and through email

• Support builders, contractors, architects, designers, remodelers, and homeowners with product selection and project needs

• Prepare estimates, quotes, and sales orders

• Coordinate deliveries, special orders, and project timelines

• Learn lumber, millwork, moulding, windows, doors, decking, siding, and specialty building materials

• Work alongside sales, purchasing, operations, warehouse, and delivery teams

• Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, availability, and lead times

• Maintain accurate customer, order, and project information

• Build strong customer relationships through exceptional service and follow-through

• Continuously learn products, systems, and industry best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a lumberyard, warehouse, distribution center, building materials supplier, retail environment, construction industry, or customer service role preferred

• Strong communication and relationship-building skills

• Ability to stay organized and manage multiple priorities

• Comfortable learning technical products and software systems

• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills

• Positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Spanish language skills are a plus!
