Elements Hospitality is seeking a Director of Development to lead our business development efforts. This role will be responsible for implementing the strategic development plan for the company, within the hospitality industry. They will be responsible for cultivating, expanding, and sustaining partnerships in our target verticals, identifying and securing new opportunities, deepening relationships with key clients, and ensuring all partnerships align with the company’s MIGs and strategic direction.

Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serves as the primary point of contact for identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities for Elements. In doing so, one must have a thorough understanding of each of the company’s target verticals.
- Exhibits Elements culture and values when communicating with clients. Further, leverages appropriate industry knowledge and terminology to evaluate opportunities and ensure alignment with Elements’ MIGs.
- Collaborates with company principals to define and prioritize target clients aligned with Elements’ development strategy.
- Responsible for original qualification of potential clientele for Elements.
- Responsible for ongoing qualification of existing clientele for Elements.
- Leads the identification of high-potential opportunities and guides internal teams in crafting strategies that secure projects and optimize execution.
- Drives project opportunity to align with Pipeline needs and personnel competency and capacity.
- Supports Elements project teams, and as prudent, when problems arise, works to align and revive strained relationships with key partners.
- Attends industry events with the purpose of prospecting, cultivating, maintaining and maturing relationships industry wide.
- Represents Elements on industry panel discussions, as appropriate.
- Maintains Client database.
- Collaborates with Marketing Department to showcase partnerships, projects, and opportunities.
- Shares Development updates, progress, and insights to all of Elements via company huddles.
- Manages Development department including various team members, i.e. Sub-contractor Development, and personnel currently holding development roles.
- Attend Director meetings and serve as a member of Elements Leadership team.
- Contributes to the creating, maintaining, and improving the company-wide Strategic Plan and goals; performs all duties in alignment with the plan and goals.
- Develop specific strategies, accountability, and support within the Development team, aligning with overall company strategic plans and goals.
Position Requirements:
- High School diploma, advanced education preferred.
- 8+ years’ experience in hospitality, business development, and/or operations. Well respected and highly connected within the hospitality industry.
- Has a comprehensive understanding of Elements business, vision, culture, and MIGS. Is an active participant in reflecting all aspects of these.
- Strategic and visionary in thinking and ability to transfer strategy into actions.
- High level of discernment, intuition and emotional intelligence when relating to people.
- Has a passion for this position. Creative with methods of engaging people and forming meaningful and strategic relationships.
- Experience and competency in developing, managing, and implementing interpersonal relationships at all levels.
- Self-management, discipline and drive are key to success in this position.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to work closely and cooperatively with others.
- Proficient and effective communicator with high attention to detail.
- Must be a leader. Not only leading the department, also leading by example across the company as part of the leadership team.

Location:
Traveling position – Ideally main location is in strategic area where hospitality is a hub. Travel is expected to be a substantial part of this role; anticipated to be 8-12 business days per month. Regular visits to corporate offices, attending industry events and connections with vested teams are expected.
