Primary purpose   

The Business Development Manager (BDM) leads business development and capture activities that focus on expanding Lantana Consulting Group’s portfolio. This position identifies, develops, and captures new business opportunities within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) health ecosystem that align with Lantana’s strategic objectives in public-health informatics, data modernization, interoperability, and Health IT solutions. The BDM collaborates closely with internal technical, delivery, and proposal teams to position Lantana as a trusted partner supporting CDC’s mission. The BDM cultivates relationships with CDC stakeholders, teaming partners, and internal technical and delivery leaders to position Lantana for sustainable growth.


This role measures success by the ability to translate insight into actionable strategies that result in measurable revenue growth and long-term customer relationships. 


A successful candidate will do the following: 

  • Drive Lantana’s business growth within CDC  
  • Lead the full business-development lifecycle from market research and opportunity qualification to capture and proposal support 
  • Combine market intelligence, capture strategy and management, and execution of business development to expand Lantana’s footprint across CDC programs, with emphasis on Health IT modernization, data analytics, interoperability, and quality-measurement initiatives
  • Engage with CDC stakeholders to understand mission needs, identify how they align with Lantana’s expertise in Health IT and data standards, and develop tailored solutions that advance health outcomes
  • Manage and expand a qualified pipeline of opportunities 
  • Build and maintain strategic teaming partnerships
  • Collaborate closely with technical leads and company leadership to grow Lantana’s position as a trusted partner to CDC  
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Information Technology, or related field
  • At least five (5) years of experience in business development, capture management, or federal contracting, with a focus on health agencies
  • Demonstrated experience developing and winning contracts greater than $5M with the CDC or similar public-health organizations 
  • Strong understanding of federal acquisition processes, IDIQs, and GWAC vehicles relevant to HHS/CDC
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including extensive experience with proposal development and capture management
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and mission-driven environment where internal motivation and self-starting is required

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration, Public Health, or related field
  • Preexisting, established relationships with CDC program offices, contracting officers, or prime contractors in the CDC ecosystem
  • Experience working with or for small-business federal contractors in the Health IT or public-health informatics domains
  • Proven ability to lead capture and proposal efforts under GWACs, IDIQs, and BPAs (such as MIDS, GSA MAS)
  • Familiarity with Lantana’s core capabilities in health-data standards (such as FHIR, CDA, CQL), quality reporting, and data-modernization initiatives
  • Experience with CRM tools (such as GovWin, Unanet, Salesforce) and federal market-intelligence systems
  • Demonstrated ability to build strategic partnerships and teaming relationships

Salary Description
$150,000 - $170,000
