Job Title: Surgical Operations Manager
Location: Remote (Must reside in one of the following states: California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia)
The Surgical Operations Manager is a high-level leadership role responsible for overseeing the strategic and day-to-day operations of surgical services across multiple Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine locations. This position provides direct management of the Surgical Coordinators team and leads cross-functional special projects to drive growth, efficiency, and exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate brings a systems-level mindset, strong leadership experience, and a deep understanding of surgical workflows within an outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Oversight
- Manage, train, and mentor a team of Surgical Coordinators across all clinic locations.
- Establish performance metrics and KPIs to track staff effectiveness and operational success.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure scheduling accuracy, timely patient clearances, and compliance with pre-op protocols.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for surgical scheduling or coordination issues.
Operations Management
- Optimize surgical scheduling processes across multiple providers and clinic sites.
- Standardize workflows to ensure consistency, reduce inefficiencies, and enhance patient experience.
- Partner with clinical and administrative leaders to align surgical operations with broader organizational goals.
Project Management & Strategic Initiatives
- Lead high-impact projects aimed at improving operational efficiency, scaling services, or implementing new surgical programs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (clinical, billing, IT, patient services) on initiatives such as system integrations, insurance updates, or patient experience improvements.
- Prepare and present project updates, operational reports, and data-driven insights to senior leadership.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure all surgical scheduling activities comply with HIPAA, state, and federal regulations.
- Work with the compliance team to maintain credentialing records and ensure surgical protocols meet organizational standards.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 2-4 Years full-time surgery scheduling experience
- Willing and able to follow directions and adhere to priorities
- Must have a can-do, will-do attitude.
- Superior knowledge of coding guidelines and reimbursement schemes
- Must have exceptional organizational and computer skills
- Conversational knowledge of medical terminology, acronyms, techniques.
- Excellent written and oral communication
- Solid analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3 years eClinical Works RCM experience in patient account and denial management
