Job purpose:

Oversee the day-to-day operations of our Finance Department and support the CFO in ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and efficiency across the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily operations of accounting, payroll, billing, procurement, accounts payable/receivable, and cash management
  • Supervise and develop Finance Department staff.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
  • Support annual budgeting, forecasting, and multi-year financial planning.
  • Coordinate the annual audit and ensure compliance with all federal, state, and grant reporting requirements.
  • Partner with leadership to ensure sound financial decision-making and transparency.
Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
  • 7–10 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, with at least 3 years in a management role.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit financial management, including fund accounting and government contract compliance.
  • Experience working with the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS) preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics) and Microsoft Excel.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift to 5lbs
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time
  • Requires frequent viewing of computer screen, continual eye coordination and hand/wrist movement and finger manipulation.

Salary Description
$125,000-$135,000
