The Integrated Planning Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining fully integrated plans, schedules, and forecasting models across Drilling & Completions and Facilities Projects. This role will lead the enterprise planning function, ensuring that schedules, cost curves, risks, and assumptions are aligned and actionable. The manager provides scenario analysis, identifies risks before they materialize, and drives cross-functional accountability to maintain predictable project delivery.
The Integrated Planning Manager is expected to be a self-starter who actively challenges assumptions, drives improvements, and ensures the organization is working to the correct plan of record. The role will report to the Vice President of Power Generation & Surface Facilities
Responsibilities
Cost, Budgeting & Change Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain project budgets, cost forecasts, and cash flow models.
- Analyze project cost performance, track expenditures, and forecast Estimate at Completion (EAC) to produce a total estimate.
- Manage the project change management process, analyzing the cost and schedule impact of all proposed changes.
- Lead monthly Project Cost Reviews with project management and senior leadership.
- Provide robust Earned Value Analysis (EVA) and other key performance metrics to track project health.
Integrated Schedule & Planning Leadership
- Own the Master Integrated Schedule across D&C, Facilities Projects, Supply Chain, Engineering, Commissioning, and Operations Readiness.
- Ensure all project teams operate from a single Plan of Record and that schedule logic, and assumptions are consistently applied.
- Maintain alignment between cost forecasts, physical progress, earned value, and schedule performance.
- Identify opportunities to compress schedule, re-sequence work, and de-risk critical path.
Reporting & Document Control
- Establish and manage the project document control system and procedures for all project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, and closeout documents.
- Prepare and deliver clear, accurate, and timely daily, weekly, and monthly project status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Interface with finance, accounting, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure data alignment and streamline information flow.
Cross-Functional Integration
- Partner closely with Drilling Engineering, Facilities Engineering, Construction, Supply Chain, and Finance to validate inputs, secure agreement on schedule drivers, and push accountability for timely updates.
- Lead integrated planning meetings; drive clarity on handoffs, constraints, decision points, and gating requirements.
- Support Capital Planning and monthly forecasting with schedule-based progress and cost-to-complete insight
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline required.
- 10+ years of project controls experience on large capital projects, with significant experience in power generation, energy infrastructure, or industrial facilities.
- Direct EPC (Engineering, Procurement, Construction) project experience is required.
- Expert-level proficiency in scheduling software
- Advanced knowledge of document control systems (e.g., Procore, Aconex, or similar) and MS Office, particularly advanced MS Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of project controls principles, including cost engineering, scheduling, risk analysis, and change management.
- Exceptional communication and analytical skills—able to translate complex technical and field data into clear reports and actionable insights.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and delivery under challenging conditions.
Location
Fervo Energy has offices in Houston, TX, Golden, CO, Reno, NV, Oakland, CA, and Salt Lake City, UT. This position will be eligible for some hybrid work flexibility, but regular in-office presence is required. Houston is preferred, but other locations may be considered.
