The mission of the COLFS Development and Outreach Department is to cooperate with Christ and the Holy Spirit in building a community in which the truth about God and His creative and loving plan for the human person is known and lived.


Job Summary:

The Assistant to the Director of Development and Outreach is a faith-filled, mission-driven individual with the desire to build the culture of life through excellence in education, communications, relationship-building, and administrative skills. The work of the Assistant is focused on the following areas: communications, fundraising, service programs, and educational outreach. 


Key Responsibilities 


Communications

  • Uses various means of communication to promote COLFS educational activities with parishes, schools, organizations, participants, and volunteers.
  • Assists Director with communications to constituents, education and outreach program participants, youth, school, and parish-based groups, Knights of Columbus, etc. 
  • Assists with content creation for use in COLFS digital media, newsletters, emails, website editing and updates.

Fundraising and Donor Relations 

  • Assists Director with planning, coordination, and execution of events.
  • Assists Director with donor-facing communications, events, and meetings.
  • Utilizes eTapestry to record, analyze, and report fundraising data.

Service Programs and Educational Outreach

  • Regular presence in COLFS Ministry Office to greet and assist guests, clients, program participants, and volunteers. 
  • Demonstrated capacity to make compelling presentations on pro-life matters and Catholic morality pertaining to chastity, marriage, and family.
  • Assists with the expansion and development of COLFS education programs, coordinating and communicating with their participants and volunteers.

Time Commitment and Compensation

  • This is a full-time position. It also requires availability/flexibility on certain weeknights and weekends.
  • Compensation is competitive and based on qualifications.

Requirements

The ideal candidate for this role has the following qualifications:

  • A practicing Catholic, faithful to the Magisterium.
  • Wholehearted acceptance of Catholic doctrine and a strong desire to promote the mission of COLFS. 
  • Strong administrative and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with Office applications, CRM software, social and digital media content, website editing, and structured communications.
  • A heart for mission that thrives in a team environment. 
  • Pro-active, entrepreneurial, and creative approach to accomplishing goals. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in Catholic education or ministry, preferably in a leadership or teaching role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts, Catholic theology, or a related field. (Master’s degree preferred.)
