The Opportunity 

The UAS Solutions Architect will serve as a trusted technical advisor to large public-sector and enterprise customers including state DOTs, city governments, federal agencies, and utility and energy providers, helping them plan, design, and deploy comprehensive drone integration solutions built on Airspace Link’s platform and partner ecosystem.

 

This individual will play a key role in pre-sales and solution design, translating customer needs into tailored UAS architectures that integrate Airspace Link’s products, partner technologies, both hardware and software, and consulting services into a cohesive operational framework.

 

You’ll work closely with internal product, engineering, and business development teams, as well as external partners, to architect and communicate end-to-end solutions that enable safe, compliant, and scalable drone operations. 


Key Responsibilities 

  • Engage with customers during pre-sales cycles to understand mission, regulatory, and operational objectives for UAS integration. 
  • Lead technical scoping, requirements gathering, and solution design sessions with enterprise and government clients. 
  • Architect end-to-end UAS system solutions, integrating Airspace Link’s AirHub Portal with geospatial data, hardware, third-party integrations, and partner services. 
  • Develop technical proposals, system diagrams, statements of work (SOWs), and concept-of-operations documents. 
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to align customer requirements with product capabilities and roadmap. 
  • Support Business Development and Sales teams by providing subject matter expertise and serving as the technical point of contact during RFP responses and solution demonstrations. 
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to clients on UAS regulatory frameworks (FAA, LAANC, BVLOS, Remote ID, etc.), data governance, and airspace integration strategies. 
  • Contribute to repeatable solution templates and architectures to accelerate delivery for future customers. 
  • Over time, own a portfolio of strategic accounts, maintaining deep technical and operational relationships.

Travel Required: ~ 25%

 

Position Type: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Requirements


Required: 

  • Strong understanding of sUAS technologies including UAS aircraft, ground control systems, detection systems, counter UAS, etc. 
  • Knowledge of FAA sUAS regulations, state/local aviation policy, or defense aviation systems. 
  • Demonstrated aptitude to comprehend, design, and effectively communicate via different mediums comprehensive solutions to technical and non-technical audiences, taking into account regulations, policy, organization, technology, use cases, program support, etc. 
  • Fast learner of technically complex systems 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Aviation, or a related technical field. 

Preferred: 

  • 7+ years of experience in systems architecture, solutions engineering, or technical consulting for complex enterprise or government systems. 
  • Proven experience designing or implementing large-scale technology solutions involving multiple components (software, hardware, data, APIs, or cloud environments). 
  • Experience supporting sales or pre-sales processes and developing proposals or SOWs. 
  • Familiarity with geospatial and mapping technologies (ArcGIS, Esri, GIS data platforms). 
  • Understanding of smart city, infrastructure, or transportation technology ecosystems.
