Membership Consultant
Description

As a Membership Consultant, you will join the AFC sales team and become a key factor in accomplishing the sales

goals set by our General Manager and COO. You will bring high energy and ambition and relish the opportunity to work

in a fast paced, high growth health and wellness environment. You will be performing the day-to-day functions of a highly productive inside sales advisor, as well as having a concentrated focus on accomplishing team and club goals. As a great communicator, you will be able to successfully engage with potential and existing members to guide them on

their unique path toward their best health outcomes. As a great listener, you will make them feel comfortable as you

learn their pain points and effectively talk them through the many options available to them at AFC. You’re a self-starter,

and helping others is a natural impulse. You have the patience and determination to know that sometimes sales can be a

long game, and that consistent follow-up wins every time.


Some of the day-to-day responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Direct conversation and guided walkthroughs with potential members.

Reviewing, contacting, and qualifying inbound leads.

Perform outbound email, texts, and phone prospecting based on internal lists.

Reengage with longer term leads already in the AFC pipeline.

Work with internal stakeholders on lead generation sources and strategies.


AFC Fitness Membership Consultant Checklist:


Friendly, upbeat, positive demeanor with a team mentality.

Able to complete full membership onboarding, using all software and systems. Book, sell, and complete new member

checklist.

Meet membership goals on a consistent basis with constant pursuit.

Work with Senior Membership Consultant and General Manager so that all sales opportunities are met, and new

opportunities are pursued.

Actively engage in the pursuit and registration of Insurance Provided Memberships. 

Membership News and Promotions – Communicated consistently to all teams, including the fitness floor and member services.

Eye for detail – Keeping tabs on improvements needed and overall club wellbeing.

Resolve member related topics timely and professionally in conjunction with AFC Club Lead and GM.

Effective time management and oversight of workflow.

Monthly marketing plan and expectations. Business outreach to be organized and defined.

Closeout plan, agenda and follow through. Closeout is a required shift – Last day of month.

Provide newsletter and social media topics and content.


Requirements
  • Marketing experience required. 
  • At least 1 year of sales experience required. 
  • Experience in the fitness industry is preferred.  
  • Working knowledge of systems Club Automation and VFP preferred; willingness to learn systems if coming in without experience
  • Schedule to be determined by GM based on Club need. Report directly to SMC and General Manager.
  • Work as a team with Senior Membership Consultant toward department level goals, while also pursuing individual goals as well.
