Packaging Machine Operator
Description

Position Summary:


The Packaging Machine Operator is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining packaging equipment to ensure products are packed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company standards.  This role plays a key part in maintaining production flow and quality control within the manufacturing environment.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Machine operation:  Operate packaging machines to bag, wrap, box, or fill products, ensuring proper setup and alignment.
  • Quality Control:  Monitor the production line to identify and correct any issues, such as spills and ensure products meet quality standards.
  • Maintenance:  Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment, some roles may involve trouble shooting and unjamming machines.
  • Material handling:  Transport raw materials and finished products to and from the production area, sometimes using equipment like forklifts or pallet jacks.  
  • Work Area Upkeep:  Keep the work area clean, safe, and organized. 


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications


  • Education:   A High School Diploma or GED is required, technical training a plus
  • Skills:  Basic math and reading skills are neccesary. 
  • Technical aptitude and familiarity with machinery are beneficial.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently on a production line
  • Physical Ability:  The ability to stand for long periods and lift or move various weights, sometimes up to 50 pounds or more and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Other:  Familiarity with good manufacturing practices (GMP)
