Position Summary

The Food Service Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing the sales operations within an assigned territory or market segment. This role leads a team of Sales Representatives, developing and managing key customer accounts, and driving revenue growth. The Sales Manager plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction, optimizing territory performance, and aligning sales strategies with overall business objectives. This position requires strong leadership, industry knowledge, and a strategic approach to sales and customer relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Train, coach, and supervise a team of Sales Representatives.
  • Set individual and team sales targets and monitor performance.
  • Conduct regular Team Meetings, performance reviews, and training.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies for the Food Service Sales Team.
  • Analyze Sales Data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with marketing and purchasing teams to drive promotional campaigns.
  • Align sales efforts with company goals, product launches, and seasonal demand.
  • Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements.
  • Track sales metrics and analyze variances.
  • Identify growth opportunities within existing customers or new markets.
  • Oversee territory assignments and optimize resource allocation.
  • Support Food Service Sales Team in targeting new business and expanding customer base.
  • Work closely with purchasing, operations, and transportation to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate with customer support and credit department to resolve customer issues.
  • Ensure sales activities comply with food safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and implement strategies to improve service levels.

Education, Experience and Skills Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Sales or related field)
  • Proven experience in sales management
  • Proficient in basic accounting
  • Detail-oriented
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • The ability to work under stress and resolve conflict
  • Sound organizational skills
  • The ability to motivate staff and lead a team
