Description

International Cybernetics Company is looking for Business Development Managers (BDM) – Mid-Market Accounts to join our growing sales team. The BDM is responsible for driving new customer acquisition within the non-strategic account segment. This field-based role emphasizes prospecting, relationship building, and closing new business sales with small to mid-sized customers. The BDM will focus on growing market share, creating new revenue streams, and establishing a pipeline of accounts that strengthen the company’s overall growth objectives.


Who We Are:

Based in Largo, FL, International Cybernetics Company (ICC) has designed and manufactured devices to collect road surface data since its founding in 1975. In May of 2022, ICC acquired Infrastructure Management Services (IMS), which is now fully integrated as the services division of ICC. Together, ICC and IMS boast almost five decades of experience in pavement engineering and analysis, software development, automated data collection equipment manufacturing, and ROW mapping. 

We enable data-driven decisions about pavement, sidewalk, and right-of-way (ROW) assets that empower agencies to get the most out of their budgets and deliver meaningful safety, maintenance, and rehabilitation results to their constituents.

Compensation:

  • $60,000 - $90,000 base salary
  • Performance-based bonus incentives

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred).
  • 1-2 years of experience in sales, business development, or territory management.
  • Proven success in prospecting, qualifying, and closing new business in a competitive environment.
  • Experience selling to government agencies (municipalities, counties, and cities).

Required Skills:

  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned territory (up to 50%).
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and mobile sales tools.
  • Self-driven, results-oriented, and able to work independently in the field.

  Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting & Territory Development
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within an assigned territory, focusing on non-strategic accounts.
    • Actively network through industry events, trade shows, and community engagement to generate leads.
    • Conduct in-person and virtual meetings with potential customers to introduce solutions and uncover needs.
  • Qualifying Opportunities
    • Assess prospect needs, decision-making structures, and purchasing timelines.
    • Apply structured qualification methods to prioritize opportunities with the highest potential for conversion.
    • Collaborate with internal teams to align solutions with customer requirements.
  • Closing Sales
    • Deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and product demonstrations tailored to customer needs.
    • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to successfully close new business.
    • Consistently achieve or exceed territory sales quotas for new account acquisition.
  • Pipeline Management & Reporting
    • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and timely updates in CRM.
    • Track activity levels, conversion metrics, and closed deals to measure performance.
    • Provide feedback to inform marketing campaigns, product positioning, and sales strategies.
Salary Description
$60,000.00 - $90,000.00 annually
