OVERVIEW
The Senior Operations Program Manager supports the bank’s BaaS partner ecosystem by analyzing reconciliation outputs, strengthening operational controls, and driving end-to-end solutions across partner programs. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, can independently structure complex problems, and produces clear deliverables. You will partner with FinOps, Partner Ops, Product, Engineering, Risk, and external fintechs to resolve issues, design workflows, and create documentation that ensures accuracy and operational readiness. While not performing daily reconciliations, you will step in when needed for escalations, onboarding, or coverage.
RESPONSIBILITIES TO INCLUDE
Reconciliations & Financial Accuracy
- Review, analyze, and validate reconciliation outputs prepared by the FinOps team; step in to perform reconciliations during escalations or new launches
- Assess variances across FBO-to-GL, partner files, and processor data (ACH, card, RDC, wires)
- Identify root causes of breaks and recommend structural improvements to reconciliation logic, workflows, and documentation
Operational Problem Solving
- Investigate partner issues and translate ambiguity into clear requirements and process solutions
- Build repeatable workflows to reduce friction and strengthen operational controls
- Support audits and exams through data validation and robust documentation
Analytics & Reporting
- Perform deep-dive analyses using Excel and SQL to identify operational risks and trends
- Produce partner performance reports, variance dashboards, and analysis packages for leadership
- Develop templates to improve consistency of FinOps reporting and partner oversight
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Risk, Compliance, and fintechs to understand file structures, data flows, and operational processes
- Support operational readiness for new partners and product enhancements
- Ensure processes meet policy and regulatory expectations
Documentation & Ownership
- Create polished SOPs, process flows, requirements, and exception-handling guides
- Own initiatives from scoping -- analysis -- solution -- documentation -- rollout
- Bring clarity to gray areas and ensure all workflows are repeatable and well-documented
QUALIFICATIONS
- BaaS or fintech partner operations experience
- Familiarity with FBO structures, GL accounting, and core systems
- Exposure to platforms such as Synctera, Treasury Prime, Marqeta, Galileo, Finxact, Q2
- Experience with audits, exams, or SOX processes
- BI tool experience (Tableau, PowerBI, Looker) is a plus
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- 4–6+ years in financial operations, reconciliation, treasury, fintech, or banking
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, complex formulas, reconciliation logic); Power Query a plus
- Basic SQL (joins, data pulls)
- Strong understanding of payments and financial flows (ACH, debit, RDC, wires)
- Experience evaluating reconciliation outputs and identifying root causes
- Excellent documentation and communication skills
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment
